On Saturday, we got our first real Christmas tree. Its about 7 feet tall and might I say, looks fabulous with our new paint. It was an interesting little adventure getting it home and getting it set up. But its up and decorated with lots of gold (duh).
We spent this Thanksgiving with Jordan’s family in Pennsylvania. It was so nice to have 5 days off (AH- CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?). Its been a huge year for us, and we have so so much to be thankful for– a new townhouse (double the size of our first apartment), a promotion, ability to work from home part-time and a fully decked out home office, JPS an adjunct professor position and tons of students… the list goes on and on.
We are looking forward to having the next of 5 days off! In celebration, we are finally taking the plunge and painting our living and dining room. In our true America-lovin’ style, we chose Gettysburg Gray from Benjamin Moore.
Taping up the room and baking some cookies… Can’t wait to get this place painted and get a Christmas tree this weekend.

Can’t wait to see the final thing!
When Andrea met up with me in Atlanta, we darted straight from the airport to Sun in My Belly. Could you think of a more divine name?
They are rumored to have the best bacon in town… I mean look at it!
We decided to split two plates as we couldn’t decide. Above, and in my opinion better a PLTB (pimento cheese, lettuce, fried green tomato and bacon sandwich). You can also get egg on it (whaaat!). We also got the Challah French Toast with bananas foster– it was good but that sandwich was beyond.
I definitely can’t wait for my next visit to Atlanta!
Its been so long since I’ve been blogging…oops.
I’m back and am so happy to be reviewing Scandal Eyes Retro Glam from Rimmel. I was sent this from Influenster and was so excited because I’ve been using Scandal Eyes Flex for about a year (it has actual lyrca in it– amazing).
Retro Glam hits stores this month, I haven’t seen it out yet but I definitely will pick up another tube of it when I run out. I’m really loving the way these work layered.
The brushes are a little bit different from each other, and I find Retro Glam a bit of a challenge to really coat your lashes so I think they compliment each other really well. Below the Retro Glam is on the left and the Flex is on the right. The Flex is just a lot easier to reach all your lashes– one or two swipes and you’re fully coated.
I really love Rimmel make-up and this mascara is no different– a little added oomph in your lashes and you look like a lady!
